Surrey Polished Concrete Basement and Patio - October 14th 2020

Surrey Polished Concrete Basement and Patio,

Serving the Surrey area FloorCraft Ltd. provides polished concrete flooring services all across the county, having recently completed a project.

Polished concrete has become a popular option for residential, commercial and industrial areas because they are easy to clean and maintain, while also being affordable when compared to other types of flooring. Polished concrete also has a distinguishable look and feel to it and allows for your imagination to run wild in terms of choosing what would look in polished concrete and its colour.

FloorCraft has extensive experience working with polished concrete flooring; in fact, we recently poured concrete in the downstairs of a house in Surrey in addition to finishing the polish on the floor. We poured 100 sq meters in a basement as well as a patio that is linked together by a set of byfolding doors. The concrete is made up of 20 to 40 millimeters of flint that has touches of brown and orange in it. To compliment the colouring, we placed 15 millimeters of dorset gold and white marble on top of it for a unique look.

To help us with this project, we used aggregate from Cornish Lime, which is a manufacturer and distributor of lime products but also has a wide selection of decorative aggregates and chippings.

Cornish Lime’s catalogue of decorative aggregates includes granites, slates, shingles, pebbles and cobbles. We chose Cornish Lime to help with this project because of its reputable background in caring for and repairing old buildings and having a knowledgeable staff with a deep understanding of different types of materials.

Now that the concrete is dry, we have been able to complete the project’s polishing. Before polishing, we sprayed water on the floor after the first cut so the client could see what it would look like as a completed project and to see what the colour of the aggregate will look like.

Although polished concrete was originally created with commercial and industrial spaces in mind, FloorCraft has seen the potential of the product, which led to us doing test trials with our own concrete designs. As such, we are, as far as we know, the only company in the Surrey region that will help you design a totally unique polished concrete floor.
